Immediate loading: a tooth on the same day?
“Same-day teeth” sounds ideal, especially when you are travelling. Sometimes it is possible – but it is a clinical decision, not a package you can book.

Two terms that are often mixed up
Immediate implant placement means the implant goes into the socket straight after a tooth is extracted. Immediate loading means a temporary tooth or bridge is fixed on the implant within a short time instead of waiting for full healing. They can be combined, but they are separate decisions.
What it depends on
- Primary stability – how firmly the implant sits in the bone at placement. Without it, loading too early can put the implant at risk.
- Bone quality and whether the extraction site is free of infection.
- Bite forces – heavy grinding or clenching may argue against it.
- Position – front teeth and full-arch cases are the most common candidates.
Temporary means temporary
Even with immediate loading, the first tooth or bridge is a temporary one. It is usually kept slightly out of heavy contact, and you will be asked to eat soft food. The final restoration follows after healing, which for most visitors still means a second trip.
Be cautious with any offer that guarantees same-day final teeth before anyone has examined you. A responsible dentist decides on the day of surgery whether immediate loading is safe.
Common questions
Can every implant be loaded immediately?
No. It depends on how stable the implant is at placement, the bone and your bite. Many implants are better left to heal first.
Is immediate loading less successful?
In well-selected cases results can be very good. The key word is selection – which is why the decision belongs to the treating dentist.
